The finality of our move to Melbourne..
The house is packed..
The cupboards are empty..
Much needed supplies were delivered...
and the truck arrived.
Furniture was dismantled - (with a little help!)
the truck as loaded and off they went.
House packed - cars gone. See you in Melbourne.
Now it is time for me to get emotional. I am sure there (have already been) will be lots of tears as we get ready to leave next week. I know we aren't too far away, and that we are going on an amazing adventure.. but it sure as hell doesn't mean I am going to miss my friends and family any less.
Tonight we head off to the first of our 'Goodbye' gatherings... and we have one every day until we leave.
So many mixed emotions... excited for what is ahead.. but so sad for what we are leaving behind.

When I was given to my owner on her 2nd birthday - I knew that I would be well loved. I have been worn more than your average skirt of my size would - but I am honourned and feel so loved by this young girl who insists I be worn at every opportunity.
I have been slept in... squished (rather uncomfortably I might add) into her car seat, worn and admired by many passerbys whilst doing the food shopping... and that is just an average day..
Today was an extreemly busy day - no more than usual with my unstoppable owner.. we had so much fun..
I was Twirled..
Watched on as my owner carefully played with her many dolls
We posed for some photos.. because when you are this gorgeous why wouldn't you?
And when the childs mother couldn't get it right.. we thought it was time to show her how it was done..
then off we ran out to the swing swing for a swinging good time..
and well after such a busy morning it was time to just hang out for a while..
and when that was over.. it was time to twirl some more... which unfortunatley wasn't a wise decision for my boisterous owner.. who over balanced... and met with a wall. Lucky I was there to cushion her fall..
I look forward to continuing my story with this beautiful little girl, who I am sure will wear me until I fall to pieces.

PS - This post was inspired by The Book The Secret Lives of Dresses - Author Erin McKean.
Is when it all began.
Well in truth it began about a month ago. The decision was made to up and move to Melbourne after calling Perth home for our entire lives.
It is a huge move - and one that we look forward to with anticipation and enthusiasm...except at 6:13am when the call comes that the truck is waiting outside to take the first of our possesions accross the Nullabour. (Truth - the call came at 6am. I couldn't drag myself out of bed that quickly this morning!!)
Pauls baby was hitting the road - well not directly.. but you get the idea. His car will arrive on the same day as he will October 3rd. 12 days from now. In 12 days he will be based in Melbourne. Then 2 days later the kids and I will follow too.
There we will start our new life.
Leaving will be hard. But that is a story for another day.
Keep checking back over the next couple of weeks for little snippets of our journey.. thanks for coming along :-)

It happens to all of us. Our kids get sick. Some sicker than others. I thank God every day that I have 3 healthy children. So when one of of your kids gets struck down - to the point of "I can't get out of bed Mum" you just want to click your fingers and make them better.
Kaiya wasn't well yesterday.. but then perked up in the afternoon and I thought she was all better. It is actually VERY common for Kaiya. She will run a fever for a day - then be fine. So when she awoke today with a fever again and said "I can't get out of bed Mum" my heart sank. My normally enthusiastic and spritely girl is looking pale and exhausted again.
So a big couch/bed day today for her. Thanks Aunty Mel for all of the great books for the iPad. She is having a great time with them!
Fingers crossed she is better tomorrow.. and that if you have a sick one out there.. they are better soon too.
If not (and you have an iPad - not sure if they are iTouch/Phone compatible) go and check out these books..
The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr Morris Lesmore
and Kaiya is LOVING this App that is FREE.. They can draw and talk to make their own story book. It is fantastic!

My gorgeous ratbag of a boy turned 6 this week, and after a small personal hiatus from the camera it was time to dust it off and get take some family photos.
He got the DS that he has wanted for 2 years since watching Kaiya receive hers on her 6th Birthday. I had put it off for SO long. I really don't like computer games a heck of a lot - and Cooper has a very addictive personality... But with the impending move to Melbourne and LOTS of plane time ahead of us.. I gave in.
Can you see the determination..??? And the jealousy from his big sister who has a regular DS (we got Cooper the 3D Version).
As it was a school day we didn't do too much on his birthday.. he requested Maccas for dinner, and then a quick cake at home with just the 5 of us... it was a really nice way to end the day..
With that ended his birthday...
Only to wake up on Saturday for his birthday party and ask me "Mum - am I 7 now???". Wishing his life away - as we all did when we were little. Constantly wanting to grow bigger - or was it the lure of more presents??? I am not sure.. ;-)
So off we went to celebrate his birthday in THE most relaxed way.. At Activate Indoor Play Centre. Did I say relaxing?? For me maybe - not for the party host. I paid for the full kit and caboodle - and just had to bring a cake. It was FANTASTIC... no mess.. no fuss.. party over!
Happy Birthday Coops..

Jet Lag. For one thing as adults is easily enough dealt with... we know why it happens and how to cope with it..
For a 2 year old... to try and explain why you can't get up at 1am - well that is kind of hard.
Amelie has had the most trouble re-adjusting to Perth time. My poor little girl has been SO out of sorts - from sleeping, eating and everything in between. I have managed to get her back into a routine of sorts this week, so lets hope perseverance will get us there in the end (which I know it will).
In the mean time I am absolutely loving being at home with her. Spending some good time with her and not having 3000 other things on my mind.
It is simply the 2 of us - and in my mind.. simply amazing. I am going to appreciate every single moment that I spend with this girl..
From her cheekyily charming personality.. to her 2 year old temper.. she is perfect in everyway.
